As our founder stated in the article here is a shift she had in articulating her leadership traits based on where she was in her career. @andypaulis Thank you for sharing this! This article does a great job in laying out the way things are working. Though as you mentioned not a lot of solutions just yet. You are spot on that through networking (both your own current network and even strangers) is how individual candidates are going to get closer to finding a job. Even at the larger companies - ATS is not the end all be all. A short story from my own experience! From late 2015 - to late 2016 I probably sent in more than 600 applications with three different customized resumes and lots of cover letters. I got exactly "zero" interviews. I decided to change tactics. Because doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is just insane. In January 2017 I started reaching out to individuals I didn't know but worked in the companies that had "Innovation roles" posted. I specifically sent them what I call today "a networking email" and my "bio". I didn't send them my resume. I reached out to about 10 companies before I started seeing some traction. By March 2017 (3 months later), I had a job offer that I did take and ended up working for Wal-Mart (#1 fortune 100 retailer). Just going to show that this tactic works even if it is a large company. Hiring managers are more likely to respond to a real outreach from someone who has a story to tell than a resume that comes from HR / recruiter. @lindac What a great question! It's hard to figure out when to stay and when to leave. I've never been through a situation like this myself. However, one thing to do (which is hard in the thick of things) is to: 1. Understand the different paths you could take and 2. Then look at the pros and cons of each. Additionally, as you did above talk to people who have been through similar journeys but if nothing else find others in your trusted network to talk through the pros and cons with them as an objective observer who can provide additional perspectives. At the end of the day, the decision will be yours but if you can make the decision methodically versus emotionally it might help the process. Any other insights from the Peppercorn Community?
